About Fordham University

Fordham University is a four-year, coeducational, private research and nonprofit university located in Bronx, New York. It was established in 1841 and is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church of New York. The university hosts Spring Fling, which includes big screen movie nights, live musical artists and a student versus administration softball game for every year. Fordham also hosts Leadership Weekend, an event devoted to teaching leadership and teamwork skills to student leaders.

Currently, the university has 8,427 undergraduate students and an additional 6,762 graduate students. Besides, Fordham University competes in NCAA Division I-AA, and the school mascot is the Ram. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. The president of the university is Joseph M. McShane. Fordham Preparatory School, a four-year, all-male college preparatory school, was once integrated with the university and shares its founding. Since legally separating from the university in 1972, "Fordham Prep" moved to its own facilities bordering the northwest corner of the Rose Hill campus.

Student housing is guaranteed for four years for students at both Rose Hill and Lincoln Center; housing options include dorm-style single, double, and triple rooms, as well as apartments and suites.

Living on campus will help you:

Campus

Fordham University has three main campuses in and around New York City: Rose Hill in the Bronx, Lincoln Center in Manhattan, and Westchester in West Harrison. In addition, it maintains facilities throughout New York State and around the world.

Rose Hill

The largest and oldest undergraduate college at Fordham, FCRH is located on a spacious green campus in NYC featuring magnificent Gothic architecture.

Lincoln Center

Fordham College at Lincoln Center (FCLC), a close-knit intellectual and creative community of faculty and students located in the heart of Manhattan, and conducted in the Catholic and Jesuit tradition of education. The college is the heir of a long history of Fordham in Manhattan.Our neighbors include Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the AOL-Time Warner Building, the CBS Television Studios, and Central Park. The A, B, C, D, and 1 subway trains stop one block away.

Westchester

The Westchester campus is home to divisions of the School of Professional and Continuing Studies and the Graduate School of Business, Graduate School of Education, and Graduate School of Social Service. The University has signed a 20-year lease with GHP Office Properties for the campus, which includes 26 newly designed classrooms with such technological features as smart boards, teleconferencing capabilities and brand new seating and learning areas.

Facilities such as Library, Parking, Information Technology Facilities and Sports Facilities are available in the campus as well.
