About this course
Delta College's hands-on EM Program has two options for an associate's degree: a track in Broadcasting and another in Digital Film.
The Digital Film route allows you to study screenwriting, film aesthetics and film theory, as well as camera operation, editing and cinematography. It is designed to prepare you to become an independent filmmaker, so it includes some basic business and entrepreneurial courses.
The Broadcasting track teaches the history of radio and television and introduces you to the technical skills of audio/visual production and editing. Next, you'll dive into nonlinear editing using Adobe Premiere. Finally you will combine your skills to work with classmates as reporters, writers, videographers and editors on the student production, The Palm, using Delta Quality Broadcasting's studios and labs.
The Film track ends with a capstone course where student teams make a short film from screenplays written in the College's Advanced Screenwriting course.
