Entry Requirements

Applicants must:

  1. have a B.S. degree in accounting, or equivalent, from Hunter College or from another regionally accredited college or university with an overall GPA of 2.75 and a 3.0 GPA in accounting courses.
  2. submit two letters of recommendation
  3. take the GMAT exam
  4. take the TOEFL exam (if an applicant has received all or part of the undergraduate education in a country where English is not the native language)

Curriculum

The six required courses are:

  • Research Techniques in Accounting;
  • Advanced Financial Accounting;
  • Advanced Auditing;
  • Accounting Information Systems;
  • Business Ethics, Communications, and Research Project;
  • Managerial Economics for Accountants

Students must take two of the following accounting electives:

  • Advanced Federal Taxation;
  • Advanced Managerial Accounting;
  • Governmental Accounting;
  • State and Local Taxation.

Students also take two non-accounting electives from graduate offerings in:

  • Economics,
  • Urban Affairs and Planning,
  • Applied Social Research.
