About Central Michigan University
entral Michigan University is a four-year, coeducational, public research university located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. It was founded in 1892. An inaugural class will begin studies at the newly established CMU College of Medicine in the summer of 2013. According to superstition, walking across the brick circle in Warriner Hall during exams causes bad luck, but rubbing the genie lamp on the University Seal brings good luck. Industrial Engineering students have gathered every Homecoming morning since 1978 to race cardboard boats. Currently, the university has 21,698 undergraduate students and 6,496 graduate students. CMU competes in NCAA Division I-A athletics.
