About Carroll University
The Student Health Center is located in the lower level of New Hall, room 019, near the Oak Room.
Student Health Center staff enjoys working in partnership with students to meet their health needs on campus.
The board certified nurse practitioners (NPs) are able to:
- Treat students for minor illnesses and injuries
- Run tests to diagnose strep throat, mono, urinary tract infections, etc.
- Write prescriptions after examining patients, if indicated
- Perform annual physical exams, sports physicals, and pap smears
- Administer vaccines, drug screens, blood tests, and TB skin tests
- Complete Medical Health Statements for your Cross Cultural Experience (CCE)
Urgent care walk-in visits comprise most of the clinic hours and no appointment is necessary. Appointments for well physicals can be scheduled on Wednesday afternoons.
University life is exciting, although some experiences are difficult to handle. Professional, caring counselors at the Walter Young Center are available to help students sort through problems. The service is completely confidential.
Common concerns include:
- I feel depressed/homesick/confused.
- My boyfriend/girlfriend and I aren't getting along.
- I freeze when I take a test.
- I have trouble being assertive.
The mission of the office of services for students with disabilities at Carroll University is to assist in creating a campus community where students with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate in all aspects of the educational environment. Disability Services provides assistance to students who have supplied appropriate documentation evidencing disabilities that range from mild to severe in nature.

Carroll University occupies a 50-acre campus in the historic city of Waukesha, just 20 minutes west of Milwaukee, an hour east of Madison and 90 minutes north of Chicago. Our main campus offers facilities for meetings, receptions, weddings, athletic events, summer camps and more.
Getting to Carroll University is easy whether you're traveling by car, plane, bus or even bicycle.
Carroll University's Main Campus is close to several major freeway exits. Whether you're arriving from either Milwaukee or Madison, we're approximately 10 minutes from I-94.
If you're arriving from the south, we're just 15 minutes from I-43.
General Mitchell airport is approximately 45 minutes from our Main Campus. Waukesha's airport, Crites Field, is just 10 minutes from campus and is ideal for those traveling by corporate plane.
Traveling with a large group? Bring your chartered buses. Carroll offers easy, in and out parking.
Carroll University has been designated a Bronze Level Bike Friendly University by the League of American Bicyclists. Our Main Campus is situated between the New Berlin Recreation Trail which leads east toward Milwaukee, and the Glacial Drumlin State Trail that heads west toward Madison.
Carroll University offers a number of different housing options. First-year students are typically placed in our traditional halls. Transfer and upperclass students are typically placed in our suite-style halls or apartments.
This all-female traditional residence hall offers single, double and triple rooms. The building has a full size kitchen on the second floor, study lounge on each floor, a full study lounge in the lower level, common area bathrooms and an elevator. Student rooms have tile floors.
North and South Bergstrom Halls
These traditional style residence halls have gender-specific floors and contain single, double and triple rooms with moveable furniture. The buildings have common area bathrooms, study lounges, kitchens, game rooms and elevators. North Bergstrom rooms are carpeted; South Bergstrom rooms are tiled. In addition, both halls’ bathrooms have been recently renovated.
Steele and Swarthout Halls
These traditional style residence halls have gender-specific floors and offer double and triple rooms with moveable furniture. These buildings offer common area bathrooms, study lounges, a kitchen and game room. Student rooms have tile floors.
This suite-style residence hall is co-ed and each suite is gender-specific. New Hall offers double rooms joined by a common bathroom. The building has air-conditioning, an elevator, and the second and third floors each have a galley kitchen with microwave, toaster oven, sink and toaster. All rooms have moveable furniture and microwaves are allowed in student rooms. All student rooms have tile floors.
This co-ed four-story suite-style residential community houses 264 residents in four-person suites. Each unit has private bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area and kitchen. Pioneer Hall has air conditioning, elevators, and PiONEer Card access to exterior doors as well as to each apartment. Other amenities include limited underground parking, over-sized common area kitchens on each floor as well as a common space on the ground floor for the Carroll community. The common space features an exercise facility, classroom, computer lab, study lounge and lounge space with TV and ping pong table.
This co-ed four-story suite-style residential community houses 231 residents. Students can shoose three-, four- or five-person suites. Each unit has private bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area and kitchen. Frontier Hall has air conditioning, elevators, PiONEer Card access to exterior doors as well as to each suite, limited underground parking, and oversized common area kitchens on each floor. The ground floor also houses Au Bon Pain, the Carroll YMCA and other retail outlets.
This three-story co-ed suite-style facility houses 128 residents. Students can choose two-, three-, four-, or five-bedroom units featuring private bedrooms, one or two bathrooms, a living area and kitchen. Each floor will feature a kitchen, lounge, study and laundry room. Like Pioneer and Frontier Halls, Prairie Hall offers air conditioning, PiONEer Card access and limited underground parking. The ground floor also features additional retail outlets.
Carroll Street Apartments
These apartments offer double and triple units with air conditioning, a private bathroom, living room, full kitchen and furniture (beds, dressers and desks). Doubles have one bedroom and triples have two bedrooms. Storage is available in the lower level. Limited garage parking is also available.
College Avenue Apartments
These apartments offer double and triple units with air conditioning, a private bathroom, living room, full kitchen and furniture (beds, dressers and desks). Doubles have one bedroom and triples have two bedrooms. Each apartment also features a balcony or patio. Storage is available in the lower level.
These apartments offer single, double and triple apartments with air conditioning, a private bathroom, living room, full kitchen and furniture (beds, dressers and desks). Singles and doubles have one bedroom; triples have two bedrooms. Storage is available in the lower level.
