About this course
The Associate in Applied Science degree in Child Development includes additional child development classes, academic courses in social science, humanities, English, and math/science. Blinn College Child Development classes can help a student meet the training requirements for the Child Development Associate (CDA) as well as licensing requirements for the position of director in a licensed child care facility.
Child Development Program graduates with a certificate are qualified to enter positions as child care workers or teaching assistants in preschool programs or other child care facilities. Graduates with an AAS degree are qualified to enter positions such as teacher/lead teacher in a child care facility or preschool program, child care center owner/director, HeadStart teacher, owner/director of a group day home or registered home, child life assistant or teacher’s aide in the public schools
