About Bellevue University

Bellevue University (BU) is a private, non-profit, regionally accredited institution with a beautiful 46-acre campus in Bellevue, Nebraska. It serves more than 16,000 students annually at a total of nine locations in three states and everywhere online. BU opened in 1966 and from the outset has focused on providing adult education and educational outreach.

BU’s passion is to make it possible for people of all backgrounds to access affordable, high quality education so they can thrive in an ever-changing, connected world. Students can choose from a wide variety of undergraduate majors, graduate majors or a Ph.D. in Human Capital Management. And, with liberal credit transfer policy and accelerated learning choices, individuals can earn their degree even with the challenges of an already busy life.

Campus information

The university's main campus is in Bellevue, Nebraska. The university boasts the Lozier Professional Center in west Omaha, the Riley Technology Center on the main campus, and the Lakeside Center. BU also offers a library, humanities center, athletic center, and the student center which were all renovated, and a new 72,000-square-foot (6,700 m2) Educational Services building was built to host classrooms, offices, and faculty space.


While primarily a commuter institution, Bellevue University enrolls many students from a variety of cities, states and countries. The university does not provide on-campus housing, but there are many alternative options within a short distance.
