Curriculum

Upon completion of the Emergency Medical Services Program, the graduate should possess the knowledge and skills to:

  • Demonstrate entry level competencies for employment in the profession by functioning as an interdependent member of the pre-hospital health care team and demonstrating leadership in a team setting.
  • Communicate, verbally, pertinent information concerning the patient to the health care provider receiving the patient.
  • Communicate, in writing, pertinent information concerning the patient to the health care provider receiving the patient.
  • Integrate all information to date to establish a field clinical impression (diagnosis).
  • Integrate all information from the patient’s history and examination findings to select and implement the appropriate patient care.
