Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU) or it is also known as Alabama A&M University, was founded in 1875 as the “Huntsville Normal School” in downtown Huntsville.

Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University reflects the uniqueness of the traditional land-grant institution which combines professional, vocational and liberal arts pursuits. Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University campus is situated on more than 2,300 scenic acres. Alabama A&M offers a broad range of resources and assistance that support and enhance students’ learning experience, in and out of the classroom. There are various club and associations, such as Student Government Association, International Student Association, Pre-law society and so on.

Among the various facilities in this university, the Small Business Development Center provides free counselling to small businesses in seven counties. Its client services include workshops, business planning resource room, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Supportive Services. In addition to that, there are a lot of available facilities that benefit students.

The serene, intimate campus is situated on “The Hill.” It is only a short distance from downtown Huntsville, the site of the school’s founding.
