About Adelphi University
- Garden City Campus
The home of Adelphi’s main campus since 1929—is one of Long Island’s most historic and scenic towns. Located fewer than 20 miles from Manhattan, Garden City is a tight-knit community of just over 20,000 residents. Aptly named, the village is an oasis of bucolic beauty with fine facilities—such as excellent public schools—as well as a thriving downtown with a mixture of small shops and restaurants and national retailers. Garden City provides a safe and elegant home for Adelphi’s main campus.
- Hudson Valley Center
Adelphi’s Hudson Valley Center in historic Poughkeepsie, New York, has served social work and nursing students from across the scenic and diverse regions along the upper Hudson Valley for more than 30 years. The Center’s strong academic foundation is enhanced by close working relationships with social service agencies throughout the Hudson Valley.
- Manhattan Center
Adelphi University’s Manhattan Center, at 75 Varick Street on the corner of Varick and Canal Streets, is located in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood, where art and commerce commingle. The Center is within quick access of Wall Street and Midtown, and is well served by subways that link students, faculty and administrators to Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.
- Suffolk County Centers
Adelphi University offers academic opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students at two locations in Suffolk County, Long Island.
The Hauppauge Education and Conference Center offers programs in professional and graduate education, while Adelphi Sayville provides degree programs for adult and transfer students seeking to complete their undergraduate education
Safe and beautiful campus next door to the greatest city in the world
You’ll be walking across our idyllic campus that’s a registered arboretum. Don’t be surprised if our beloved Adelphi bunnies cross your path. Nestled in suburban Garden City, our campus is just a few blocks walk or a quick shuttle ride from the Long Island Rail Road and 23 miles from New York City’s cultural and internship opportunities.
We house 1,300 students in seven clean and safe residence halls. Each residence hall is supervised by a full-time, professional residence hall director (RHD) who is committed professionally and personally to the concept of the residence hall as a center of learning. The RHD lives and works in the hall throughout the year and supervises a staff of trained graduate and undergraduate resident assistants (RAs).
Adelphi maintains seven distinctive residential communities: Chapman Hall, Earle Hall, Eddy Hall, Linen Hall, New Residence Hall A, New Residence Hall B and Waldo Hall. All of our halls are coeducational by either floor or wing, have common areas with TVs, kitchenettes with ranges, microwaves and sinks, vending machines and laundry facilities.
