WQE has a range of study environments designed to meet students’ individual needs and learning preferences. The LRC provides stimulating materials and learning facilities to help promote, extend and enrich the learning experience.
We stock 24,200 books, newspapers, periodicals and DVDs supporting all College curriculum areas.
The LRC also includes group study rooms and our Study Centre which has 131 computers with internet access, subject specific software and Office applications.
Social and Eating Zones
The College has newly developed dining and social zones. This includes a large dining room and a shop for ‘grab and go’ refreshments. An extensive range of hot and cold food is available and menus are selected to provide choice for wide ranging diets. The James Went Building also has K Zone – another popular dining outlet.
Our high quality academic and pastoral support is always available and is individually tailored to each student to guide them towards future success.
Departments have their own extensive Information and Learning Technology resources and all classrooms are equipped with a projector and computer. Students also have remote access to WQE Online, which provides supportive learning materials.
Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the College.
Specialist science laboratories have been remodelled and re-equipped, incorporating state-of-the-art facilities for learning and teaching.
The James Went Building offers purpose built studios for Art & Design subjects, Performing Arts, Accounting, Business and Economics. It also houses ‘Gallery 12′ for the display of students’ and visiting artists’ work
The IT facilities, gym, sports hall and grounds are also available for use.
WQEIC is situated near Leicester city centre, adjacent to Leicester University’s main campus.
