Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs grades A*-C or above including English and art & design or a relevant Level 2 qualification at merit or above.
You must bring a portfolio of artwork.
Curriculum
In Year One, students focus on creativity and the understanding of fashion as a whole. Students are introduced to:
- design
- illustration
- accessories
- computers aided design
- technical studies
- pattern cutting
- textiles.
Students will also focus in greater depth in trends in fashion, style and design, and will go on visits to exhibitions and shows. There is also an opportunity to attend an overseas visit.
In Year Two, the focus is on refining the skills learnt in the first year but also more emphasis on trends and marketing and garment construction. There will also be opportunities for work expereince and the chance to participate in industry related projects and competitions.
The course is also linked to a compact scheme with London College of Fashion where students can attend portfolio advice days and pre-interviews for UCAS. All students will study Functional Skills as part of this course.
