About this course

This flexible course is designed to enable you to respond to a range of issues in teaching, learning and assessment in R.E.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Religious Education is a flexible one year part-time course, designed to give you the opportunity to reflect on current practice, build teaching skills and critical reflection upon them, and deepen subject knowledge of R.E. in an area of choice.

The course is designed for teachers of R.E. – both specialists and non-specialists – who are working at any Key Stage or in an advisory capacity.

Each module normally costs £420. For a limited period only, until July 2011, the university is able to offer one module (20 credits) of subsidised study* to teachers with Qualified Teacher Status who register for the full MA or for a 60 credit Postgraduate Certificate and who have not previously accessed this funding. Teachers are warmly encouraged to take up this final opportunity for this financial support with their Masters level work, which is being withdrawn nationally from all providers at end of this academic year. The second module is partially subsidised by the Diocese of Worcester, reducing the module cost considerably. Please check on application.

*subject to TDA funding. Please check when you apply.
