Curriculum

This unique course offers a professional doctoral qualification in the expanding area of information security. Most of the course is based on negotiated learning, which means you will construct research-based learning around your interests and experience.

The danger of cybercrime is growing and is affecting individuals, governments and organisations across the world. From phishing to hacking, scamming to grooming, botnets to cyberterrorism, the range and variety of threats seems to expand constantly.

This Prof Doc addresses system vulnerabilities and explores preventative measures, repair and detection. This course is aimed at professionals working within the information security area who wish to develop their research-based practice.

As a result of the rapid growth in both the availability of global information structures and the number of users, information security professionals face major challenges to provide services that are accessible and yet safe. Keeping business channels flexible and easy to use, while guarding against cyber criminals, is an on-going project.

We aim to improve professional practice in the information security area through our research methods.

Our course leaders continuously update their expertise, carrying out leading research within this market.
