About this course

This part-time, work-based course will help you develop the leadership and management skills necessary to deliver high-quality health care services. It is aimed at experienced clinicians who want to combine study with full-time careers.

The course places emphasis on areas of management particularly relevant to the public services and develops your ability to think innovatively, negotiate difficult situations and enhance organisational performance.

At Brighton, you will develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and competencies you need to address the complex organisational problems of a fast changing political environment.

The course also emphasises the need for 'soft' and 'hard' management skills, promoting creative problem-solving, communication, multidisciplinary thinking, team work, and leadership and management skills. The emphasis is on developing the knowledge in an applied and integrated way. Your written projects will link an area of learning to your work situation.
