About this course

This fully accredited foundation degree is a three year course, with the first and third years being spent both in College and in practice on a voluntary basis, and the second year spent entirely on placement (with the exception of a one-week module taught at the College).

The College facilities comprise of an extensive Animal Care unit, large commercial farm, facilities for the equine syllabus components, and a clinical training suite containing modern equipment, ranging from advanced diagnostic, anaesthetic, laboratory and surgical equipment to a comprehensive range of anatomical models, including a life size model horse, and a full range of equine veterinary and husbandry equipment.

The course is suitable for unqualified student nurses who would like to train whilst in part-time employment in a veterinary practice. Students seeking to enter the field will be provided with a voluntary placement.
