About this course
Perfect if you like looking after children and young people and want to progress into a career within the industry. After the first year of this course you will gain a licence to practice. You can expect the opportunity to take part in work experience placements (two days a week), which will be assessed continuously. You’ll also complete assignments that include placement portfolios, direct observation and assessments in ICT.
5 GCSEs at grades A*- C (including English language and maths) or a Level 2 Certificate in Early Years with English and maths at grade C or above. You must be motivated to learn and be prepared to undertake a higher level of English and maths as part of your study. You will also need a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and a satisfactory reference from a school, employer or professional. You will also need to secure a voluntary placement for a minimum of 12 hours per week in an early years setting
