About this course

Do you want to study a life changing course? Do you have the passion to work in the Superyacht industry? Do you already work in the Superyacht industry? The FdSc in Operational Yacht Science is designed to work to produce professional Superyacht employees who want to have an employment edge amongst their peers and increase their options for their future careers. You will gain the skills you need to work as Deck Crew onboard Superyachts, working towards MCA Officer of the Watch 3000, (OOW 3000), allowing you to work as a Deck Officer on Yachts up to 3000 GRT plus the experience and qualifications that allow you to work towards First Mate and Captain level. We work in partnership with the UKSA Cadetship course, and have a 90% employment record. If you are able to work hard, enjoy the yachting industry and are happy to spend long times abroad, then this course is worth the enquiry

Entry Requirements

  • 120 UCAS points from AS and A-Levels (at least 80 points must be at A2-level) or relevant level 3 qualification i.e. BTEC National Diploma/BTEC Extended Diploma - PPP Grades required, specific unit grades may be required.
  • Access to HE Diplomas - 45 credits at level 3.
  • Plus GCSEs at grade C or above in English language and mathematics: alternatives at Level 2 may be considered. Mature applicants with relevant experience but without the stated qualifications will be considered individually and are encouraged to apply.
