About this course

The Computing and Systems Development HNC will provide you with an understanding of the practical aspects of computer systems. The course provides a thorough grounding in the key concepts and has a sector-related emphasis on practical skills development from a variety of operating systems.

You will have the opportunity to apply complex theories to practical realistic work situations in the computing sector, using industry standards and develop personal and business skills, enabling you to contribute to the demands of a professional environment.

The HNC provides the underpinning knowledge for the Higher Apprenticeship, which is equivalent to a Higher National Apprenticeship. These qualifications are ideal for those who are in relevant employment and wish to accelerate their knowledge, skills and promotion prospects or for full-time students intending to progresss to further study elsewhere.

  • Extended Diploma/A2 Level/Access to HE Diploma or equivalent
