About this course

If you want to study marine science in one of the most beautiful coastal regions and pursue a career in the marine industry then this is the course for you. You will study a series of modules to gain the essential knowledge and skills to work in the marine science sector.

Our location gives us access to a superb 'outdoor classroom' and we are within half an hour of a range of coastlines of all types from pounding surf beaches to sheltered sandy bays. You will be able to study these areas and learn all about the influences and habitats that create them. You will also have the opportunity to undertake research projects and gain many practical outdoor survey skills.

Students are encouraged to develop a strong team ethic through a variety of activities, whilst being introduced to a range of employers and industry contacts.

Entry Requirements

  • 120 UCAS points from AS and A-Levels (at least 80 points must be at A2-level, preferably in a science subject) or relevant level 3 qualification i.e. BTEC National Diploma/BTEC Extended Diploma - PPP Grades required, specific unit grades may be required. 
  • Access to HE Diplomas - 45 credits at level 3. 
  • GCSEs at grade C or above in English language, mathematics and a science: alternatives at Level 2 may be considered.
