Entry Requirements

  • Foreign qualifications recognized by the University of Zurich must primarily be based on general education.
  • Must represent the highest possible graduation diploma from a high school or secondary school in the respective country and entitle students to a place at any university faculty and to any field of study in that country.
  • Proficiency in German


  • Mathematics (23 CP) and Physics (40 CP) are followed by a theoretical cycle (Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Thermodynamics, Quantum Mechanics, Mathematical Methods of Physics) (41 CP). Two advanced modules provide students with an overview of Experimental Physics (12 CP). A further module allows students to deepen their understanding of either Experimental or Theoretical Physics (8 CP). Students gain practical experience through courses on Computer Science and Data Analysis as well as through workshops, seminars and the Bachelor’s research project (22 CP). Optional courses allow students to complement their studies with subjects of particular interest to them (34 CP).
