The Bachelor’s degree in Geography (180 credits) is divided into compulsory, core elective and elective modules. The first two years of the degree program largely consist of compulsory modules in geography, earth sciences and mathematics. The third year comprises a Bachelor’s dissertation, core electives and electives, which offer students the first opportunity to expand their knowledge in physical geography, human geography, remote sensing and geographic information science. In addition, at least four field trips must be undertaken to complete the Bachelor’s degree. Students can choose individual areas of specialization through the electives. While most lectures are held in German, a few courses are given in English.
