Entry Requirements

The programme is designed for students with the following qualifications:

  • A polytechnic diploma in a relevant discipline


  • An Advanced Diploma in Engineering awarded by M2 Academy


  • Other equivalent diploma, advanced or higher diploma qualifications, which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
  • IELTs 6.0 or equivalent (For international students only)

The programme is also suitable for mature-age learners looking to return to study and progress their career.


The programme adopts a flexible delivery mode with face-to-face and online materials available. It combines lectures, tutorials, seminars and workshop sessions, with a student to faculty ratio of 1:36. Students will be assessed based on written assignments, presentations, group projects and written examinations. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Understand the engineering body of knowledge appropriate to the specialisation, which is underpinned by a strong foundation in Natural and Physical Sciences, Mathematics, as well as Computer Science
  • Understand and practise the essential management techniques required by professional engineers, including information management, organisation of self and teams, risk management, as well as project management
  • Be prepared for professional practice through exposure to current industry tools, techniques, and practitioners, which are embedded in the project-based learning philosophy of the degree
  • Undertake research, reflection, critical evaluation, and personal development skills, which are essential to a professional engineer
  • Apply skills and experience in solving complex engineering problems using creative, innovative, practical, and systems-based approach
  • Work independently and in teams, both as a leader and a team member
  • Understand and value the social, environmental, international, political and economic contexts, and apply their engineering knowledge for the service of society
  • Devise sustainable and culturally appropriate solutions that are sensitive to the impact of new technologies on engineering and the society
  • Be committed to ethical conduct, recognising their social and professional responsibilities
  • Communicate appropriately and effectively to professional or community audiences, using various techniques
