Going away to college is a big decision. If you are thinking of leaving home country to realize your dream of earning a university degree, there are likely many thoughts going through your mind. Your dream, however, is closer to becoming a reality than you might think. Universities across Singapore are very open to international students. You will learn in a state of the art environment within a system that is ranked highest in Asia.
Singapore is actually quite flexible with the admission requirements, realizing that other nations do not always adhere to the same system of secondary education. With that in mind, if you attend a secondary school that offers A Level subjects, then you will want to complete a minimum of two of them. Make sure that a general paper is involved, and that you complete them in one sitting. If you do not have A-Level courses, then you can also complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma as long as you read and take on general math course. Aside from that, you can also take the SAT or ACT exam. The university will take your score from that exam into account when reviewing your application, so do as good as you can.
International students are also required to sit for a general English test during their first year of study. If you meet the minimum requirements for that, then no further testing is required. If you do not quite meet the standard, then you be asked to take up to three additional English course modules before moving onto the latter stages of your program. Keep in mind that these English modules do not earn you credit towards your degree.
