Overview

The JPA Scholarship consists of 3 different options, as follows-

1. The Program Penajaan 9A+ scholarship by JPA is open to SPM students who have scored a minimum of 9A+ regardless of the number of subjects taken. The scholarship will cover local preparatory studies AND can be extended to a local degree upon meeting the required grades set by JPA.

2. The Program Khas Jepun, Korea, Perancis, dan Jerman (JKPJ) scholarship by JPA is offered to SPM 2018 students to pursue courses related to engineering, social science or science and technology in Japan, Korea, France and Germany. Successful candidates will attend a preparatory course locally before continuing on with their respective degree studies at selected institutions abroad.

3. The Program Penajaan Nasional (PPN) is the most prestigious scholarship offered by JPA, only open to the best SPM students. 411 of the nation's best students will be handpicked for the PPN, but only 20 will be selected for the scholarship.

You will have to take different pre-university programmes depending on which country you want to study in (e.g. Germany = A-Level, Korea = Foundation, etc.).

3. PPN

Only applicable for selected fields of study at selected institutions only. Selected fields are Technology (Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Neurotechnology, Green Technology, Digital Technology); Agriculture & Forestry; Biological Sciences; Computer Science; Economics & Econometrics; Geology, Environmental, Earth & Marine Sciences; Mineral & Mining Engineering;Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. Applicants will be called in for a special test, assessment and interview.

Eligible students can apply online through the JPA website. Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend the Student Assessment Centre (SAC). The main purpose of the SAC is to ensure that JPA selects the best scholars for this programme.
