About this course
This Diploma is a one year full-time qualification, but may also be considered as the first year of a two-year programme. After completing this programme students may choose to apply for entry to the Diploma in Information and Communications Technology (Level 6) programme. Subsequently, students may choose to advance and complete the requirements for the Bachelor of Information Technology. There is a high demand for ICT graduates and this is expected to continue. This opens up a vast range of opportunities for you within this industry, both in New Zealand and internationally.
Admission requirements include:
- 54 credits at NCEA Level 2 in four subjects, or
- National Certificate in Computing (Level 3) if students have completed sufficient computing unit standards, or
- Equivalent qualification
- Candidates who have English as a second language are required to have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 6.0, with no individual band score lower than 5.5; or equivalent.
- Special admission may be granted to candidates aged 20 years or over who do not meet the specified entry requirements. These candidates may be required to demonstrate an ability to successfully complete the programme through a process of an interview and / or assessment.
