New Look For The International Department
This year the International Department welcomed six new staff members to the team. The full team is as below: 

  • International Marketing Manager: Chami Abeysinghe

Christmas and New Year Break
The International Department will be closed for the Christmas and New Year break from midday Wednesday 24 December. Processing of all applicants where possible will be completed up to this date. The team will be returning to work on Tuesday 6 January 2015 and will endeavor to process all applications as soon as possible after this date. 

We would appreciate all payments, arrival details and homestay host request for January 2015 to be sent to no later than Monday 22 December. Our 0800 748 111 emergency number will be available over the holiday period. Please ensure your students travelling to New Zealand are given this number. 



English Language Vacation Dates
English Language students will be finishing on Friday 12 December and commencing classes on Tuesday 6 January 2015. 



Postgraduate Diploma in Business Enterprise vacation dates
PG Dip BE students will be finishing classes on Friday, 12 December and commencing classes on Wednesday 31 January 2015. Students can work full time during this vacation break if their student visa allows. 



The administration team has done a fantastic job this year in getting the application processing time down to 24 hours. However, we are noticing a number of applicants being submitted that are incomplete for example missing a verified copy of an applicants passport, high school or tertiary qualifications missing or no evidence of an Academic IELTS report being supplied.

Applications that are not complete will result in a delay in processing which can be frustrating for all, so please make sure all documents are complete before being sent to us so we can keep processing applicants super quick. 

Commissions Invoices
Programme fees are made up of two parts; a tuition fee and a resource fee. Please note that you can claim commission on the tuition fee only. 

All new students in 2015 will be getting a Welcome Pack which comprises of bed sheets, towels, face cloths, duvet inner/cover and three small packs of breakfast food items. Singles and couples will get one Welcome Pack. Children will be charged $145.00 per child. The student can keep the pack when they move from the accommodation.

The refundable bond has increased to $300.00 and students are expected to pay four weeks accommodation in advance on arrival. PG Dip BE students can stay in the apartments for a maximum of six months. If students wish to stay the fifth and sixth month, after the Accommodation Scholarship has finished, they must advise the Accommodation Officer on arrival at SIT. No exceptions.

Big Enrolments for 2014
This year SIT had the pleasure of welcoming over 1200 students to our Christchurch, Queenstown and Invercargill campuses.

New Programmes for 2015
SIT will be offering brand new programmes in 2015 including the Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology, Graduate Diploma in Information Technology and the Graduate Diploma in Hotel Management.
