About this course
The ‘Information Age’ provides great career opportunities for many. Terms like information technology (IT), IS and digital technologies (DT) are often used interchangeably. Business Information Systems is the point where business studies and information technology meet.
When student study Business Information Systems, they will learn how to discover what information people need to do their job, how they need it presented, and when they need it.
This programme emphasizes on human and organisational aspects of the use of computer-based information systems.
Students can also learn about e-commerce, the impacts that information systems can have on businesses and other organisations and the specialized management skills that relate to information technology and systems.
- Applicants must have already successfully completed a 3 year degree or equivalent qualification, excluding business information systems.
- Applicants from industry who can demonstrate significant work and professional experience to succeed in the program will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Entry in these cases are at the discretion of the programme leader.
- Applicants where English is not their first language must provide evidence that they have achieved a minimum of 6.0 IELTS average with no band score lower than 5.5, or NZCEL Level 5 with an endorsement of either Academic or Professional.
