The university's medical department is linked to a large teaching hospital located on the Heyendaal campus along with other university buildings such as the Huygensgebouw which contains the Natural Sciences. The Erasmus Tower and the Erasmusgebouw which contain the Faculty of Arts are situated at the south end of the campus next to the sportscenter (USC). Recent building projects included new on-campus residence halls, the sports center and several science buildings.
The new Grotiusgebouw is recently built and will offer more room to the Faculty of Law. The university campus is located next to Heyendaal train station. Frequent shuttle buses connect the university to Nijmegen Central Station and the city centre. Faculties include:
Trains stop at Nijmegen Central Station and Station Nijmegen Heyendaal. During rush hour bus line 10, the Heyendaal Shuttle, runs every five minutes directly from the central station to campus Heyendaal. Bus line 10 runs only during weekdays and not during holidays and in weekends.
Each year in August/September the university organizes an introduction programme for about 3,500 first-year students, many of which will be looking for a room. A furnished room with shared kitchen, toilet and shower facilities will cost approximately up to € 400 rent a month. The number of vacancies is extremely limited, and rooms are hard to find.
The Foundation for Student Accommodation Nijmegen (Stichting Studentenhuisvesting Nijmegen; SSHN) provides accommodation to students from Radboud University Nijmegen. SSHN has approximately 4,000 housing units in 16 different properties and more than 30 buildings in Nijmegen. Radboud University Nijmegen does not offer any assistance to prospective bachelor students looking for accommodation.
