About this course
Throughout this programme, you will take maritime subjects such as Maritime Operations, Hydromechanics, Ship Production and Ship Construction. You can expect some fairly challenging mathematics and physics as well. Besides this, you will learn to put your acquired knowledge into practice. In the first year, for instance, you will be given the task of designing, building and demonstrating a floating hoist construction made from just a steel plate, piping and wire. Moreover, during your first year you will go on a short internship that will get you acquainted with the technical, organisational and social aspects of a maritime enterprise.
- Other secondary school diplomas considered to be equivalent to the Dutch pre-university (VWO) diploma (on the condition that the student has passed at least the final examinations in mathematics, physics and English).
- You are required to take one of the following language tests: the TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language), the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or the University of Cambridge: ‘First Certificate in English’, Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) or Certificate in Advanced English (CAE).
