How is the academic life at this university/college? In my course, Food Science & Nutrition, some subjects are quite tough as so many chapters that are needed to be memorized and less tips for the exam materials. I do not really get a lot of assignments, usually done in a group. The marking depends on the lecturers, some of them may give strict marking but some not. Some lecturers know my name. Only few students participate in class by asking questions and discussing with other classmates. They compete in healthy way. I do spend time with the lecturers if there are few points that I do not understand well. What are the students like? The student population of international students is larger than local students. The international students are from different countries; Africa (Nigeria, Botswana, Kenya, etc.), Middle East (Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, etc.), China, Indonesia, Korea. They are mostly like to wear casual outifit and only few of them wear smart casual apparel. What do students do when not studying? Tell us about the social and sports life. UCSI University provides many student activities and clubs that students can join. I am a part of Indonesian club. My faculty has its own club called School of Applied Science Students Association (SASSA). It provides a factory visit, outting, and other educational events. Yes, there is a good balance of study and social life. What is your overall opinion about this university/college? The cooperative education programme (a 6-month internship programme). The internship period depends on each faculty. Tell us about your overall experience in studying in this country Overall, I like studying here. It gives me new experience as I learn to be more wise and independent in handling my life here. I usually hang out with other indonesian friends on weekend and have some nice chit-chat. I'll be missing this moment for sure.
