How is the academic life at this university/college? Academic life can be very rigorous depending on the course. Engineering is difficult in the sense of the Project-Based Learning module, which every semester an engineering student banded with others in a group has to come up with a project idea to conceive and conceptualize a solution to a current challenge and build a working model to address the challenge by the end of 14 weeks of the semester. Most of the knowledge would come from self-learning, and the amount of learning depends on the complexity/depth of the project. What are the students like? There's a fair bit of active student life in Taylor's, most days there would be activities going on in campus. People active in clubs and societies tend to be seen in many clubs and societies (they're usually everywhere, doing everything), they're usually the ones truly engaging themselves in meaningful activities and self-development. Very inactive people (just there for classes) would only be seen in exam halls, ever. What do students do when not studying? Tell us about the social and sports life. For people who are active day to day, there's a fair amount of clubs ranging from Dance Club (which practices in campus in the evening), Music Club (which does jam sessions), Debaters, Toastmasters etc. When not studying, students can be seen working on their projects in the lab (highly applicable to Engineering) or running events on campus. Sports clubs in uni range from Frisbee to Badminton to Muay Thai, with their practice sessions in the evening. What is your overall opinion about this university/college? IMO, the experience would really depend on the person themselves. If one typically seeks out new experiences (like myself) and doesn't mind trying on a plethora of new things (which can be overwhelming), then it would be a very fulfilling experience, because the opportunity of growth is there, however only some students with the growth mindset would take it up and make it something worthwhile. Opportunities like the Shine Award Programme, Scholars Development Programme all have the necessary resources and very supportive management who take to heart to build future leaders.
