ALFA College & KLSFEA Signed MOU at the Launch of MF3

The team from ALFA, ready for the launch of a new milestone.

The morning of 11th July 2014 was an especially special one, not just for the people in ALFA College and The Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Furniture Entrepreneur Association (KLSFEA) but for everyone in the furniture industry as well. This was because after 2 years of discussion, ALFA College and KLSFEA were signing a mutually-beneficial MOU for the beginning of something new in the Malaysian furniture industry.

All along, ALFA College has been differentiating itself from other interior design/architecture colleges in Malaysia with its detailed module in furniture design. With this MOU signed, the Interior Architecture students here will receive more exposure and opportunity in the furniture and education industry.

For your information, KLSFEA was established more than a decade ago “to foster interaction and unity among furniture entrepreneurs, share knowledge and promote the development of furniture business in responds to international competitors and challenges” (www.KLSFEA.org.my). KLSFEA is the organizer for the annual Malaysian Furniture and Furnishings Fair  (MF3) that brought home RM5.5 billion in transaction within 3 days last year.

What’s a better occasion to sign the MOU than during the launch of the 7th MF3 in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center?

VIPs at MF3 launched included Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister, and committee members from KLSFEA, Malaysian Furniture Entrepreneur Association (MFEA) and MF3.

A booth space was allocated to ALFA College at the corridor en route to entrance of MF3 to exhibit students’ furniture designs. The innovative designs have caught the attention of visitors and industry people who kept asking to buy the products.
