About this course
The PGDE programme provides student-teachers (pre-service and in-service) a combination of sound theoretical foundation, pedagogical knowledge, classroom management skills, and professional competencies to prepare them to become highly qualified and skilled infant, primary or secondary teachers. The programme examines educational theories, perspectives and practices within the field of curriculum development and evaluation, educational psychology, teaching and learning methodologies, and communication technology. It includes seven modules designed and taught by local and overseas scholars, in line with worldwide research findings and current educational trends. The two teaching practicums in local schools are key features of the programme. They offer opportunities for students to work with experienced teachers in a school environment, to apply relevant prior knowledge and to develop confidence in teaching.
- Applicants to our PGDE programme must possess an undergraduate degree, or its equivalent, and demonstrate adequate proficiency in the language of instruction.
- Relevant work experience strengthens your application.
- Selected applicants are required to attend an admission interview.
