How is the academic life at this university/college? Airlangga University (Unair) has plenty of Faculty choices, and one of the examples is the Faculty of Medicine. Unair's Faculty of Medicine, along with any majors in it, are the most popular faculty in Unair. Those faculties appear to be student candidates' favorite destination that those are frequently out of quota. It's easy to graduate from Unair's Faculty of Medicine, and the curriculum are also easy-peasy. Besides, the faculty also provide workplaces where alumnis can participate in it. Not to forget that Unair also provides clinical facilities, both for patients as a whole and also for students to do their daily lecturing activities. Other than the Faculty of Medicine, Unair also has several interesting faculties, such as any faculties related to Languages and Humanities (e.g: English, Anthropology, or History). Not many know these faculties, but I know several of my friends who attended those faculties and they've got a pretty kick-ass output. What are the students like? (P.S.: Even though Unair might seem really focused on the development of its' curriculum, in reality, Unair students are much more laid-back than Unair's own description in the website. Don't mistake me, I'm not saying they're lazy, however, they've got some relaxed streak. At the same time, they can also get serious when needed, for example when they attend organizational activities) Oookkkaaayy...What can I say about these super-amazing Unair students? I can say that most of Unair students are great folks. Why did I say great, anyway? Because they can balance their working and studying time (most of them are part-time workers). On top of that, several of them take English courses. Students who take English courses are those who aim for full-tuition scholarships to study abroad. Such a marvelous time management skill, don't you think, readers? Not few of them are also taking advantages of scholarship facilities while studying. I know one person or three Unair students who receive Bidikmisi scholarship. Bidikmisi Scholarship is a scholarship that target students with academic merit and experience financial difficulties. There are also students who receive Santri scholarship. This one is for Muslim students. What do students do when not studying? Tell us about the social and sports life. Like what I've just told, Unair are comprised of students who are highly active, both in and outside campus. Most of Unair students that I know are involved in various non-profit organization outside campus, for example Save Street Child Surabaya that works in education for street children in Surabaya, any Toastmaster clubs in Surabaya, and AIESEC Surabaya. To tell the truth, I am more or less inspired on their activities. Their energy outside campus are tremendously overflowing that I learn more to blend with them, even though I'm not one of Unair students and not really studying in Unair itself. Unair campus held scholarship practice bases these days, which present about how to write an effective scholarship essay. I would definitely go once I got the opportunity, since I aim for a full-tuition scholarship at the time this review is written. What is your overall opinion about this university/college? Active university? Check. University with lots of high-listed programmes (and faculties)? Check! Yep, like what I've just said, Unair's educational quality is magnificent and their faculties are highly variated as well, that there will be plenty of choices for future Unair students to be considered upon. Unair is also a campus with high amount of activities, and I would also say it's really busy. They've got a lot of research partners, especially on the Hibah Dikti program, where the researchers can apply for government fundings in order to support their researches. This also means that their research qualities are competitive enough to compete with larger-scaled Indonesian universities such as UI. In short, Unair is a pleasant campus, and I'm really glad to have many friends in Unair. Oh, and--For those who want to study Postgraduate, you are very welcome to enroll in Unair. Their programmes and faculties are as complete as UI's. And, based on what I've heard from fellow Unair alumni, there is also a specialist education for doctors.
