About this course

This degree programme is unique, because choosing their own research focus, biochemists carry out up-to-date research projects and are thus getting ready for their future activities in life-science research and professional life.

Those who wish to enrol in this degree programme, have an inquisitive mind, creativity and an interest in natural and life-science phenomena, enjoy conducting experiments and acquiring techniques and methods for both the scientific discourse and the hands-on experimental approach, with the aim of gaining new insights and developing new problem-solving strategies and struggle through lectures, exams, exercises, seminars, mandatory lectures and, most importantly, work experiences (general internships and lab internships.

This degree programme is suited for graduates in the following subjects

  • Biochemistry, B.Sc.
  • life-science Bachelor’s degrees

Entry Requirements

Students who apply for the Master of Science program in Biochemistry must have:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry degree from a German University.
  • An equivalent Bachelor of Science degree from a university outside of Germany. Equivalence will be ascertained by the examination board.
  • In well-founded exemptions an equivalent university degree in another field in natural sciences.
