About this course
The BA degree in Sociology represents a six-semester BA program in which any core subject of the Faculty of Arts is combined with a supplementary subject. Elements of this program include the theoretical foundations and essential findings of sociology and social science survey and analysis. Students gain insight into the structure and construction of modern companies, as well as processes and dynamics of social change. The course qualifies for self-appropriation and critical assessment of sociological theories and methods, and to independently work on theoretical and practical field. Students acquire the skills, new and complex problems and issues from a sociological perspective to methodically analyze, represent and solve problems.
Admission requirement into the program would include:
- school-leaving certificates (in the original language and an official, certified copy in German translated by a sworn translator; English and French certificates do not need to be translated)
- proof of previous study credits (in the original language and an official, certified copy in German translated by a sworn translator; English and French certificates do not need to be translated)
- DSH certificate (= German language university entrance exam for foreign students) (DSH 2 or 3) or a comparable language proficiency certificate
- If you have already begun to study in Germany, please submit the current certificate of enrolment (= Studienbescheinigung) from your university / college, showing subject(s) studied, intended degree and number of semesters studied.
