Curriculum

Practical work in both AS and A Level Physics will be assessed through questions on written examinations based on experiments completed in lessons. 40% of the assessment for both AS and A Level will be based on the use of mathematics within a physics context.

  • Motion, Newton‰s laws, momentum, work, energy, electricity, waves and quantum mechanics.
  • An additional practical competency assessment will require the completion of a number of core practical experiments during lessons.
  • Circular motion, simple harmonic motion, thermal physics, latent heat, electromagnetism, capacitors, particle physics, cosmology, and applications of physics in medicine.
