Entry Requirements
- A-levels: for those applying with A-levels only, grades BBB are expected, supported by a strong portfolio.
- BTEC: DDM.
- International Baccalaureate: 30 points.
- Access to HE Diploma: pass with 60 credits overall. Art and design diploma preferred. At least 45 credits at level 3, with 30 credits at merit or above.
- GCSE (minimum grade C): good profile.
English Language Requirement:
- IELTS 6.0 overall, with 6.0 in writing and a minimum of 5.5 in the other elements.
Portfolio and interview advice
You should prepare a portfolio that specifically reflects your interest in joining a specialist fine art sculpture course. It should demonstrate your interest in working with materials, space, objects, live art, performance, video and installation. The portfolio should also reveal a self-motivated investigation and a clear commitment to fine art sculpture.
You should be able to demonstrate a willingness to learn through practical, imaginative and intellectual engagement and display an understanding of critical and cultural issues relevant to the broader context of fine art.
Interviews are informal, normally comprising of two members of the course team and one student representative. You should be prepared to discuss your portfolio with staff for between 20-30 minutes.
