Reviews of Les Roches Jin Jiang International Hotel Management College, China
Courses offered in Les Roches Jin Jiang International Hotel Management College, China
After living in China for a few years and having studies a first year at Les Roches Jin Jiang, I wanted to complete my career change to hospitality with an experience that would allow me to understand better how the industry works in other parts of the world. Studying at both LRJJ and LRB allows me to learn how similar issues and opportunities are addressed in different cultures and different markets. I think that somebody with direct experience of Chinese culture, language and travel expectations can find good opportunities with hospitality in Europe or elsewhere in the world. Thanks to Les Roches I am already in touch with many great companies that came to recruit on campus. I am sure that something exciting is waiting down the road!

Les Roches Jin Jiang Campus is full of opportunities. If your interests lie in sports, languages, and talents, you will find a club suitable for you! In case you don't, the college would encourage you to start and lead one. I organized the Music Club and the college showed its support by providing music instruments. Club activities show that there is more to learning, it is the place for students to develop or master their skills, and make friends with people who share the same interests.

My hospitality journey started at LRJJ. After HAI and HAII, I joined Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts in Maldives as a Management Trainee in Front Office and F&B departments for 6 months was attached with URBN Hotel as my second internship. Upon completion of LRJJ Diploma, I traveled a bit around Asia and then decided to transfer for degree completion to Kendall College in Chicago. Upon graduation in September 2014, I got a job offer in the fashion retail industry joining Ermenegildo Zegna, a high-end men fashion company based in Italy, as a Sales Consultant. I then decided to come back to hotel industry and joined Fairmont Chicago, Millenium Park. And that’s where I am now.

I was studying at Les Roches Jin Jiang before transferring to Les Roches Bluche. Such an experience has given me the opportunity to learn the Les Roches way of life from different perspectives in different cultures. Adjusting to a new environment was not too hard since both schools give full support to both new and transferred students to help us get involved and adjust.

The successful start of my career is related to the education received at LRJJ. One of the teaching methods is project-based learning that educates on how to lead, be accountable for your actions and take responsibility for the results. Moreover, the postgraduate program gives you the overall picture of hotel management and makes it very clear which direction to go after finishing studies.

Studying at Les Roches Jin Jiang – a life changer for me – I had the opportunity to do my first internship in the pre-opening hotel St Regis Abu Dhabi. Then in Koh Samui with W Retreat. Lastly, as Sales & Marketing Manager in Training for Cachet Boutique Hotel, I had the chance to work on the hotel rebranding, its event promotions and new digital marketing strategies. Transferring to Les Roches Switzerland, I’ll now complete my studies with a BBA in International Hotel Management with specialization in Entrepreneurship. Ultimately, I wish to open my own company. I am confident it will work out, thanks to all the knowledge and experiences acquired at Les Roches Jin Jiang!

My hospitality journey started at LRB, Switzerland in July 2011. After my first semester, I joined Tse Yang Restaurant in Grand Kempinski Geneva as a Food and Beverage service trainee. I learned how to deal with people from various backgrounds as well as with difficult situations in the work place. Serving customers, resetting tables, training new trainees, and more – all this was my daily routine for 6 months, until June 2012. Afterwards, I heard that Les Roches has a branch campus in Shanghai, and since China is developing really fast, I decided to transfer to Les Roches Jin Jiang for my third semester, in September 2012. Studying in LRJJ was a great and unique experience. Food around the area was really good, people are very welcoming, and the college just feels like home. When I first came to LRJJ, my Mandarin was not fluent at all. However, the environment, where almost everyone spoke only Chinese, forced me to improve my language skills, brought my Mandarin to a higher level.
