About Jiangnan University
Jiangnan University dates back to 1902 and is located in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, which is the core of the Yangtze River Delta. Jiangnan University functions directly under the Ministry of Education, and views quality as its lifeline. Now there are 17 schools, covering fields of economics, education, laws, literature, science, medicine, engineering, agriculture, business etc., among which food science, fermentation, textile, industrial design play the leading role nationwide, and has great influence in the world. Some newly developed disciplines such as International Economy and Trade, Business Administration have enrolled many international students.
Jiangnan University began to accept international students from 1964 onwards, and has cultivated students of various backgrounds and cultures from more than 80 countries. The university specially establishes “President Scholarship”, “Taihu Scholarship” and “New Student Scholarship” for international students. Every year the university will recruit 30~40 self-enrolled Chinese Government Scholarship students. The new campus is designed under the conception of “an ecological campus with winding water” and includes advanced facilities and an excellent environment. Students from all walks of life are welcomed to study at the beautiful Jiangnan University.

Accommodation
All international students live in the International Students Apartment Building. The type of room on offer is single rooms with separate toilet, water-heater, air-conditioner, TV, telephone, internet and a full set of furniture. Accommodation fees include:
- Bachelor’s Student: 1500 RMB/semester
- Master’s Student: 1500 RMB/semester
- Doctoral Student: 2000 RMB/semester
- General Scholar: 1500 RMB/semester
- Senior Scholar: 2000 RMB/semester
- Long-term Chinese Training: 1500 RMB/semester
- Short-term Chinese Training: 25 RMB/day
Campus
The newly completed university campus, covering 208 hectares, is located by the Taihu Lake, a national scenic resort in the south of Wuxi. It was designed and built to demonstrate the concept of an “Eco-campus”, landscaped with beautiful greens, elegant gardens, unique bridges and tranquil streams.
Jiangnan University (JU) is situated in the city of Wuxi in the southern part of the province of Jiangsu. Approximately 128km away from Shanghai in the east, Wuxi occupies an area of 4,787.61 square kilometers and has a population of 6.34 million including 2.2 million dwellers in the city proper. It’s convenient in transportation, with Shanghai International Airport about 2.5-hour drive away in the east and the local Wuxi Airport accessible to many big cities in China and some Asian countries.
