About this course

The MBM is designed as a specialist Master degree course to respond to the emerging challenges and the requirements for a holistic approach in management. A deliberate emphasis is placed on professional and technical skills enhanced through projects students will pursue. Thus, the MBM or indeed the MBA should not be confused with standard general management courses. Students will not only acquire broad knowledge of the field but more critically demonstrated specialised knowledge, skills, perspectives and values in a substantially integrated, applied and experiential manner.

Units of study are larger to provide a greater opportunity for interdisciplinary learning and integrated coverage of knowledge in this field. Students are immersed in the fundamental knowledge and then involved in project-based learning with due emphasis on the integrated application of knowledge, creative thinking and intellectual development. Contemporary thinking is reflected in the core knowledge and perspectives promoted throughout the course including learning triple bottom perspectives and environmental and social optimisation. In short, APIC's focus is on promotion of holistic and integrative thinking, self-direction and development of meta cognitive abilities. The qualities underpinned are:

  • Creativity and lateral thinking
