Manipal International University Malaysia
Manipal International University (MIU) is a Malaysian, multidisciplinary university dedicated to addressing the human capital and developmental needs outlined in the 10th Malaysia Plan. It is through an innovative multidisciplinary programme that MIU plans to create an environment which will meet industry needs for professionals to sustain economic growth in this region.
Manipal Education and Malaysia have had a long relationship which has extended over 50 years. Students from Malaysia have studied at the top-ranked Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India, and at Melaka-Manipal Medical College. The product of these institutes over the past five decades has been astounding: over 4,000 medical doctors in Malaysia have been groomed by Manipal Education. Now, MIU will further its scope of education by offering programmes in engineering, business and life sciences as part of an initial arrangement of programmes in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Campus
A pedestrian-friendly campus, cars will only be allowed to park in designated lots. Green will not just be a colour of the flora and fauna, but also a philosophy that will encourage students to become cyclists, biking to classes and around the university. Vegetation found on campus will be composed primarily of species from Malaysia and the ASEAN region.
The café and student centre will be of an "open-air" design and will have a variety of food available. Over 1,000 people can be accommodated in this area, which will also feature a bank, a convenient store, and other essentials useful to students and the campus community.
The main administration building will house the Vice Chancellor’s office, the admissions office, and other student affairs and administration offices. The sprawling low-rise building is designed to blend with the campus environment.
The large academic building overlooking the picturesque 9.5-acre lake is the School of Engineering, which will also be the temporary home to the School of Business and School of Life Sciences. When all development is completed, this building will serve as the focal point for nearly 10,000 engineering students. The U-shaped building -- joined at the center by a huge double arch symbolizing the iconic Manipal "M” -- will house all the engineering areas.
The open-air theater looking out over the lake will have a 1,000-person capacity and will serve as a nerve center for various performing arts initiated by the students or invited artists from Malaysia, the ASEAN region or other parts of the world.
Sports facilities will be situated in the north-east part of campus and will consist of a stadium and a state-of-the-art arena and facilities.
Location
Manipal International University held a groundbreaking ceremony in Nilai (Negeri Sembilan) at the close of 2011, announcing the construction of its 136-acre campus. By 2012/2013, this serene stretch of land just south of Kuala Lumpur will be transformed into a bustling community with a capacity of over 20,000 students, as well as hundreds of faculty and staff. In its preliminary years, Manipal International University will offer Engineering as its focal school, along with Business and Life Sciences. These initial schools will be followed by others, which will include Humanities, Design, Law, Hospitality, Education, and Media and Communication amongst others
