ICAM prides itself as the only automotive college in the region that is established “By the Industry, For the Industry”. It offers programmes that are developed by the industry professionals who are subject matter experts and understand the needs of the industry. The talents produced by ICAM are provided with invaluable industry experience at the companies within the DRB-HICOM Group and will be ready for the workplace upon completion of their diploma or degree programmes.

DRB-HICOM Automotive Complex, Pekan, which is sited on 230 acres of land, boasts world-class assembly plants and has a proven reputation as a world-class automaker assembling Mercedez-Benz, Isuzu, Suzuki, Mitsubishi and Volkswagen vehicles. DRB-HICOM Automotive Complex Pekan is the first plant entrusted by Mercedez-Benz and Volkswagen to assemble their S-Class and Passat models respectively outside of Germany.

The college currently offers eight (8) Diploma programmes. In September 2013, ICAM commences its Bachelor degree programmes in collaboration with foreign and local universities. ICAM is targeting to be a full-fledged university by the end of 2013. The college guarantees employment opportunities within DRB-HICOM Group of Companies such as PROTON, HICOM Automotive Manufacturing, PUSPAKOM, DRB-HICOM Auto Distribution, Modenas, Pos Malaysia, KL Airport Services, Bank Muamalat, Alam Flora and other companies within the Group.

Upon receiving approval from The Ministry of Higher Education, ICAM was established on the 2nd April of 2010.

In April 2010, DRB-HICOM established the International College of Automotive Malaysia (“ICAM”) at DRB-HICOM Automotive Complex Pekan, in Pahang, Malaysia to propel the automotive industry and to ensure a steady supply of highly-skilled workforce and automotive talents for the DRB-HICOM Group and also the industry

The ICAM Facility is located over a 4.8 acre campus, which is located in Pekan, Pahang. Students can expect to view modern facilities, complete with comfortable classrooms, coupled with well equipped laboratories for hands-on practical training.


ICAM may provide accommodations for students who request for one at the university village which is located roughly 500 metres away from the campus. the fees paid for the accommodation will cover:

  • rental of room
  • bed and furnishing
  • monthly utility bills (electricity & water)

Rooms available are limited so the applications for those rooms will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. In this case, students who are interested are adviced to apply in advance 

Each block can accommodate up to 853 students. There are 4 kinds of rooms available for students to choose from 4 kinds of room and the fees will vary according to the duration of stay.

STEP 1, Submitting your Application

For those who wish to submit your application online, please make an online submission to ICAM. Candidates who prefer to submit their application via post can download the forms here and send them to: Student Affairs Department International College of Automotive (ICAM) DRB-HICOM Automotive Complex, Peramu Jaya Industrial Area, P.O. STEP 2, What happens next?

Upon receipt of the application form and if successful, you will receive a Welcome Pack. STEP 4, Welcome to ICAM!

Once you have completed the above procedures, you are ready for ICAM Orientation (5 days orientation). This is mandatory for all new students as the information presented will include pertinent information on your new life as an ICAM student. Held on campus after Registration day, you will familiarized your self with: The programme, awards, requirement and assessment criteria, College Rules and Regulations, Academic calendar and time tableInduction Programme. You will also receive your uniforms (4 sets) during Registration Day. Reminder: Attendance is compulsory. If you are not present, you will not be allowed to commence your studies. For the Registration, the dress code is Smart Casual. Slippers, sandals, singlets, shorts and baggy or torn jeans are not allowed.

STEP 5, Getting ready

Starting Induction Day, you are required to be in uniform i.e. ICAM shirt (provided), black pants and sport shoes.
